PUBLIC NOTICE

The Town of Shediac, through its agent MacArthur Paving & Construction Ltd., is undertaking a major project involving the extension of water and sewer services to the new Correctional Centre under construction off Lino Road. This will also entail an upgrade of the existing water mains on Sackville Street.

Weather permitting, construction will begin in April of 2010 and is scheduled to be completed by the end of June of this same year.

Areas affected by this project:

a)             A section of Sackville Street between Harper Drive and Breaux Bridge Street;

b)            A section of Sackville Street between Breaux Bridge Street and Highway 15;

c)             A section of Breaux Bridge Street from Olive Street to Sackville Street;

d)            The intersection of Sackville Street and Breaux Bridge Street.

During the construction period:

Sections of Sackville Street, Breaux Bridge Street, as well as the intersection of Sackville and Breaux Bridge Street will be closed to thru traffic and will be barricaded. Detour signs will be installed to direct traffic.

A temporary detour will be constructed between Landry Street and Olive Street to minimize delays for those residents directly affected.

During this period:

Water and/or sewer services may be interrupted as a result of unforeseen circumstances. You may also notice discoloration of your water or a drop in pressure.

The contractor will restore your services as quickly as possible. Once the water service has been restored, we recommend that you run the cold water for a few minutes until the water turns clear.

You will be advised prior to any scheduled water shut off. Once the water service has been restored, again we recommend that you run the cold water for a few minutes until the water turns clear.

Please note

All damages incurred during the construction period will be repaired as per municipal standards. This will include the installation of asphalt base and seal, repairs or reinstallation of curb and gutter and any lawn and/or driveway damage within the municipal right-of-way.

Any damages on private property will be repaired as per municipal standards, including lawns, driveways, water shutoffs or any other unforeseen damages.
